best. He wants more than anything to become the world's greatest Pokémon Master.
With the help of his friends, he is always trying to catch up to Gary, his snotty,
self-centered rival from his hometown of Pallet..

Hometown/Location: Given to Ash by Professor Oak in Pallet Town.
Pikachu is the most popular of all Pokemon in the TV series. He is
also Ash's best friend and Pokémon. An adorable electric-type
Pokémon, Pikachu
loyally defends Ash and his friends, Misty, Brock, and Tracey, and stands up for all
Pokémon-kind. Like all other Pokémon, Pikachu can only communicate by repeating
his name
over and over with his cute, baby-like voice. Pikachu is constantly pursued by the evil,
Team Rocket.

Misty
Age: 10
Hometown/Location: Cerulean City
Pretty conceited (self-centered) and whiny,
Misty is one of the former Cerulean City gym leaders and specializes in water
Pokémon. The reason she joined in the first place, was because Ash
"destroyed" her bike, as she puts it, and that he was to pay her back for what
he did. It seems though, that as time went on she took a liking to the journey
itself. Constantly quarreling with Ash over anything.

Name: Brock
Age: 17
Hometown/Location: Pewter City
The eldest and wisest of the traveling trio.
He's love crazed emotions usually get the group in trouble. Formerly the leader of
the Pewter City gym, Brock specializes on rock Pokémon.
Although he's great in Pokémon battles, Brock aspires to be the world's best Pokémon
breeder. He also seems to be the most overlooked character in the series. Poor
Brock. :(
Brock left the
series at the start of the Orange League saga, but has returned for
the Johto League saga.

Name: Professor Oak
Age: 60
Hometown/Location: Pallet Town
He's Gary Oak's grandfather and his job is to
provide some guidance for me and other Pokémon trainers. Professor Oak is one of
the world's most respected Pokémon experts. He lives in Ash's hometown.
Absentminded, eccentric, and friendly, the Professor is always ready
to provide advice to Ash and his friends. Completely oblivious to Ash's rivalry with Gary,
he usually finds some way to brag about him, which just makes Ash want to try harder to
beat Gary.

Hometown/Location: A house near a forest.
The
Pokemon photographer, Todd, has only
appeared in 3 episodes of the series so far. The
thing he enjoys most is taking pictures of Pokemon
out in the wild.

Hometown/Location: Orange Islands
He joins the group in place of Brock in episode
81. Tracey
describes himself as a "Pokemon
watcher". He sticks
around with the group
through the Orange League. When Ash
departs
for Johto, he splits to continue on with his own
tasks. Brock takes his place at the start of the Johto saga.

James - 18 (maybe)
Meowth - ??
The main evil villans of the
series. Always trying to catch Pikachu, and collect other rare Pokémon as well.
These three work for Team Rocket, a mysterious and evil gang looking to steal rare
Pokémon. Jesse and James are stuck up, fashion conscious, and prone to cross-dressing.
Their introductory chant, while said once almost every episode, (and it can get very
annoying), always receives a humorous spin later in the series to prevent it from getting
old. Meowth is a Pokémon that, oddly enough, can actually
talk like a human being (he's actually one of the few...err...ONLY Pokémon that can
talk). Together, they try their hardest to capture Pikachu, but they fail miserallbly.

Name: Gary Oak
Age: 12
Hometown/Location: Pallet Town
A real jerk, Gary is another trainer from
Pallet Town. Self-centered, vindictive, and obnoxious, Gary obviously feels threatened by
Ash and always goes out of his way to make him feel bad. The
grandson of Professor Oak, Gary fancies himself as a veritable Pokémon savant and always
has a large entourage following him to hype his very existence. Gary's setting himself up
for a big fall at the hands of me, and don't think anyone will feel bad for him when that
happens.

These other members of Team Rocket
have only been seen on several episdoes thus far. They're not any better than Jessie or
James at stealing Pokemon from their trainers.....they screw up just as much with their
